Shae & Phil

Country meets city and love blooms…

In early 2018 I was thrilled to be asked to design the wedding flowers for Shae and Phil.

I have known Shae since she was a little girl with a ponytail and I have had the privilege of watching their relationship blossom. It was now Shae’s turn to be the bride and I was so excited to be a part of the team to bring her vision to life.

It is very important to me to be able to see and understand the vision each bride has for her perfect day, and Shae was able to communicate the feel and style she and Phil wanted. Lots of texture, a neutral colour palette with a touch of blue, together with a few special flower choices. My job was to bring this picture to life.

Shae’s bouquet featured a king protea, with roses and lisianthus. To include the texture Shae knew she wanted I chose hypericum berry, wax flower and tetra nuts together with pussy tail for an earthy country feel. Including blue with such a neutral palette needed to be done carefully, I chose sea holly and the extra special ingredient was blue gum from her childhood home.

Phil’s buttonhole complimented the bouquet perfectly and it also included blue gum from Shae’s childhood home.

Shae grew up on a farm near Mudgee with her sister Clair and brother Hugh.   With their parents Brent and Barb they enjoyed the freedom and privilege of a country childhood and a special passion for “all things horse”. Phil grew enjoying all of the opportunities of Sydney. Phil now shares Shae’s love of country life and they have their own country property to enjoy as a married couple. I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness and thank them for the opportunity to design the wedding flowers for their beautiful wedding day.
